Integrated Method for Power Analysis (IMP™) software from Natural
Resoures Canada (NRCan) is specifically designed to reduce risk in small-scale hydropower
projects and other hydrological applications, especially in remote areas
with sparse available data.
When you combine IMP™ functionality with meteorological and topographical data,
you can evaluate all aspects of an ungauged hydro site in one day of analysis. IMP™
uses four modeling components to perform power studies, flood frequency curve
development, and fish habitat analysis.
Overall, IMP™ provides the advanced functionality you need to:
- Streamline assessment of economic potential and instream environmental impacts of small hydro sites on ungauged watersheds
- Incorporate topographic and daily weather data to perform flood frequency analysis and simulate hourly and daily streamflow and reservoir operations
- Optimize proposed projects based on energy value and construction costs
IMP™ is also useful as a training environment, because it deals with many common
issues in water resources engineering.
New release of IMP™
